After our last post we stayed in a town called Miri (Borneo) before we flew out…. and this was the view from our window….
Yes that’s dog on a spit roast! Apologies to the dog lovers and vegetarians!
Following our rural adventures in Borneo we were both looking forward to a little civilisation and maybe not walking 20km everyday!
When we got into Singapore we decided to take a boat trip down the main river to see as much as we could of the famous island state as we only had 48 hours until we flew out. The boat trip itself was very relaxing as we took in all the sites….and it certainly saved our weary legs.
The next day we decided to go to a water park, we soon turned into little kids as we wanted to get on to every slide possible. Michelle’s screams and giggles could be heard at every twist and turn. When the wave pool started up Michelle had great difficulty getting on to the inflatable ring float, even falling off backwards which drew a good laugh from a lifeguard and myself!
That evening we had the highlight of our stopover as we went to 1-Altitude, which is the highest alfresco bar in the world. Situated on top of One Raffles Place (the highest building in Singapore) the bar offered us 360 degree views of the country whilst watching owls glide above us. The bar was awesome….we sipped our cocktails, listened to the live band, watched the sun set whilst the city transformed into a carpet of lights. This little secret is a must do for anyone planning on going to Singapore. The cocktails weren’t cheap though!
Next stop Jakarta….
