Well….. both places are absolutely bonkers…. I feel grateful that we haven’t been run over! Sensible rules like driving on one side of the road, stopping at red lights, only drive on the road are non existent. The only rule is to not hit anything. There are pedestrian crossings however there is no such thing as anyone stopping for you…. You literally have to walk out in the road whilst there are hundreds of bikes coming at you and you just hope for the best!
We have seen bikes carrying fridge freezers, vegetables, hundreds of loo rolls, squid, man with a drip attached to his arm, 4 goats and pretty much anything else that you can possibly think of!
Ho Chi Min never sleeps…..beer is cheap and we were smack bang in backpacker territory… we saw two young orphan kids who put on a show at the front of each bar…they were drinking petrol and lighting their mouths whilst the other swallowed a live snake and continued to cough it up and pull it back out! We ate and drank with locals who introduced us to a dish called Morning Glory…. Not sure what they thought when I told them my version of Morning Glory! 🙂
Local currency is called Dong….almost bought Andy this T-shirt! Just my gutter sense of humour!
Safe to say we are done with cities for a while and have just arrived at Otres beach in Cambodia for a few days peace and quiet, sun, sand and cocktails…. We have arrived just before busy season and there is literally no one else here…. 4km of beach to ourselves – heaven! Our new home for the next few days:
Oh, and the only other company we had on the beach was this lil fella….
Foot update….5 weeks ago today that it happened… Not that I’m counting the days! Should be all good to get off this spacky shoe in another week! Think I will look like Bambi attempting to walk…..
Much love to everyone!
